Open Enrollment 2024: Oct 28 – Nov 25

Important changes happening this year

Open Enrollment, the annual opportunity for PEBB benefits-eligible employees to enroll in or make changes to their benefits, happens earlier this year– starting October 28 through November 25. In addition to the new timeframe, the PEBB is also introducing three new vision plans that you will need to select from. Vision coverage is an employer-paid benefit with no monthly premiums and will replace the vision benefit currently included in your PEBB medical plan. Information about the new plans will be available this summer.

Why are these changes happening?

  • The Health Care Authority (HCA), which administers the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) set the new timeframe for Open Enrollment which will now run from the last Monday in October through the Monday before Thanksgiving each year.
  • PEBB is providing employees more choice by providing standalone vision plan options.

As always, during Open Enrollment, you will also be able to:

  • Enroll in or change your medical, vision and/or dental coverage.
  • Add or remove qualified dependents, including a spouse or state-registered domestic partner, to/from your medical, vision and/or dental plans (Learn more on the Health Care Authority’s Are My Dependents Eligible? webpage).
  • Enroll or re-enroll in optional pre-tax savings programs such as a Medical Flexible Spending Arrangement (FSA), Limited Purpose FSA (LFSA), or the Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP).
  • Respond to HCA’s spousal premium surcharge if it applies to you.
