For all these issues, UW CareLink provides in-person counseling. Work with a licensed professional to help you sort through your concerns to make your life easier. You receive five free in-person counseling sessions for each issue you work to solve. UW CareLink matches you with counselors who are the right fit for your situation and who have offices near your work or home.
These sessions are confidential and not recorded on your medical record. You don’t have to fill out insurance forms or make a copay; although if you want long-term counseling, UW CareLink helps arrange that through your health insurance.

What to expect when you call
When you call UW CareLink, you’ll speak with a master’s level or above counselor who listens to you and assesses your needs.
The counselor first asks you basic demographic questions such as your name, job, and work location. Your personal information is confidential and not shared with the University. The UW only sees aggregated data that helps program administrators understand how people use the UW CareLink service.
The counselor then listens to your situation and helps you set up an in-person counseling session with licensed, conveniently-located professionals. If you’re seeking legal, financial, or elder care advice, you’ll set up a phone consultation with the appropriate professional. If your situation is urgent, the counselor is trained to begin solving it immediately.
