UW Proposes Pay Range Increases for Custodial Jobs: September 15, 2016

UW Building Services leadership has coordinated with Labor Relations on strategies to fill current custodial vacancies and to continue to attract and retain the best possible candidates.

Using the collective bargaining process, Building Services management has proposed increases of two pay ranges to every job class in the custodian series. If accepted by the union, this proposal would help to address concerns over wage growth and recruitment and retention.

UW has proposed the following pay range increases:

  • Custodian (Job Codes 8532 & 8658), on Pay Table BI at Pay Range 27 would be moved to Pay Table BI at Pay Range 29.
  • Custodian Lead (Job Codes 8533 & 8659), on Pay Table BI at Pay Range 31 would be moved to Pay Table BI at Pay Range 33.
  • Maintenance Custodian 1 (Job Codes 8665 & 8543), on Pay Table BI at Pay Range 41 would be moved to Pay Table BI at Pay Range 43.
  • Carpet Cleaner (Job Code 8536), on Pay Table BI at Pay Range 41 would be moved to Pay Table BI at Pay Range 43.
  • Custodian Supervisor 1 (Job Code 8776), on Pay Table BI at Pay Range 37 would be moved to Pay Table BI at Pay Range 39.
  • Custodian Supervisor 2 (Job Code 8777), on Pay Table BI at Pay Range 41 would be moved to Pay Table BI at Pay Range 43.
