CONTROL TECHNICIAN LEAD

Lead and work with control technicians to perform journey-worker level work in the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and electrical controls for heating, air-conditioning, and related equipment.
Positions in this class are distinguished by responsibility to lead journey-worker control technicians on a project or at a job location, to instruct other assigned workers, to correct and specify methods, and to perform skilled repair, maintenance, and installation on mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and electronic controls.
Perform all duties of a Control Technician;
Lead assigned personnel in the performance of work;
Assure adherence to safety rules and precautions by assigned personnel;
Develop preliminary cost estimates for installation and repair;
Develop methods and procedures to be followed by assigned personnel;
May perform work in other trades;
Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified
One year of full-time experience as a journey control technician, or equivalent trade skill. Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
A job element examination (including written, E & T and oral components) scored on the basis of job related experience, training, skill, ability and other elements which are established through job analysis.
