BASIC FUNCTION

Create, produce, direct and edit recorded and/or live audio-video/television programs.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Under general supervision, coordinate and develop program sources, script writing, set and prop design. Train and direct crew and cast in television production techniques.

TYPICAL WORK

Organize planning activities leading to the production of audio-video/television-materials which may include conceptualizing audio-video/television productions, establishing agreements and enlisting the help of resource people such as writers and actors, and writing formats and scripts;

Organize and direct all assigned phases of the production process which may includes selecting, rehearsing and directing performers and coordinating audio work, scenes, graphics, music, timing, camera work, and script;

Direct audio and/or television programs;

Provide technical advice to students, faculty and staff on production techniques

Develop and implement workshops, in-service training, demonstrations, displays and related projects;

May select, recommend and train crew members for audio and television recording equipment operations;

Perform duties of an Electronic Media Producer I;

Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - UW Contract Classified
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS - Classified Non-Union

A Bachelor's degree with major field of study in television production, communications, or instructional media AND three years of experience in television production, audio production, instructional design or related field which includes the operation of television, film and audio recording equipment OR equivalent education/experience.
